Coincidence or a sign? You decide.

I’m back from Russia and North Europe. It’s not exactly a nice feeling to be on a tour and yet returning to the hotel every night, tune in to BBC and CNN and see people suffering in China, Myanmar, Nigeria, South Africa. Feeling is almost…guilty…to be enjoying myself while hundreds of thousands of people are on another side of the globe, struggling desperately with life and death or trying their best to overcome the grief of watching the last breath of their loved ones slip away…or worse…not even having the fortune to witness that. It aches every humane heart to see the images of people’s faces which were etched with unbearable pain; physically or from the heart. But, I don’t know if you feel the same way, it is these same images that kept my eyes glued to the TV. These catastrophes are so devastating that it wrenches your heart each time you hear about the death toll, but ironically, as much as it disheartens me, I just can’t stand not knowing.

Anyway, let’s just change the topic. My eyes are now lined with dark circles done by the most horrible make-up artiste in the world called Lack of Sleep (+jet lag if you must). This trip was extremely enriching, I must say, but super tiring as well…such horrible long plane rides…

Stop the waste

I feel sick in the stomach when I see people wasting money on materialistic, superficial, useless stuff right now. I deeply regret how long it took for me to realize the state of my family’s financial status, when my mother came into my room and talked to me about the rise of the university fees and how she couldn’t afford it for me. At that instant, the only thought that went through my head was I should have just tried for those stupid scholarships regardless of the stupid bonds they have that are going to cage me in their companies for a few years of my life. But then again, I’m probably gonna regret it during the bond years because I know very well Student Loans exist, and they don’t carry any bonds, of course, though they have this interest thing that we have to consider.

I know there are people worse off than me financially, but there are LOADS more people richer than me. And I see them using money as if supply is endless and as if every one is as rich as them. It’s hard to sink it in; the unfair fact that some people are born with a silver spoon and that some people are born, well, without a spoon at all. But the world is unfair…so…I guess, just live with it, even if you’re poor. I just hope I won’t be dragged down to waste money with the rich people because I really don’t have the means to.
